Job Description

We're looking for a skilled Software Engineer, capable of working in a highly dynamic and constantly evolving environment, tackling complex challenges and proactively participating in the life of the team. Working closely with other engineers, product teams and stakeholders, you'll help execute our roadmap, enhance customer experience and contribute to the strategic vision of the area.

You'll have great autonomy and following your initial integration into the team, we anticipate you taking ownership and start driving initiative

We're the Products and Tariffs team, our mission is to create a consistent experience for customers wanting to purchase all energy and non-energy products on the OVO brand, helping OVO to become the UK's most trusted company and help achieve our Plan Zero goals.

You're the right person for us if you have:

  • Experience with Scala or any other Functional Programming language
  • Experience with the Typelevel stack (we use Cats, Cats-Effect, Http4s, FS2)
  • Experience or exposure to cloud native computing (AWS/GCP)
  • Experience with Kafka or Event-based architecture
  • Experience or interest in Infrastructure and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform)

We'll pay you between £64,000 and £75,000, depending on your specific skills and experience.

We keep our pay ranges broad on purpose to give us, and you, flexibility to match your experience to our zero carbon mission.

You'll be eligible for an on-target bonus of 15%. We have one bonus plan that focuses on the collective performance of our people to deliver our Plan Zero goal.
