Job Description

Skilled and motivated Cloud Engineer required to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in cloud computing technologies and a passion for optimising cloud-based solutions. As a Cloud Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining cloud infrastructure to support our business objectives. This role is essential in ensuring the reliability, scalability, and security of our cloud services.

About Us:

We are looking for a talented Cloud Security Engineer to join a new team of a start-up challenger bank. This hands-on role offers the opportunity to grow into the Head of Information Security, eventually building and leading a new security team.

You will be joining a small but experienced team focused on building bespoke best-in-class banking technology, a single platform delivering loan issue, card issue and recovery.

Cloud Security Engineer Duties:

  • Implement and manage security controls and countermeasures.
  • Perform vulnerability management and remediation.
  • Collaborate with software engineering and product teams.
  • Manage Active Directory, Azure, Office 365, and Defender services.
  • Respond to new vulnerabilities and manage remediation.
  • Develop and manage security measures for generative AI usage.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong leadership and time management abilities.
  • Collaborative approach and relationship-building skills.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders to ensure alignment on project goals, timelines, and expectations.
  • Lead teams efficiently, managing resources and deadlines to ensure successful project delivery within time constraints.
  • Foster collaboration across departments and teams, cultivating strong relationships to enhance teamwork and overall performance.

Skills & Experience:

  • Degree/diploma in a tech-related field or relevant experience.
  • Preferred certifications: PenTest+, Security+, OSCP, CCSP, CEH, GCIH, GMON.
  • 3+ years in IT Security, preferably in fintech, SaaS or banking / financial services
  • Strong experience of working closely with software engineering and product teams with understanding of CI/CD pipelines for new feature and product releases
  • Strong scripting skills (Python, PowerShell, Bash).
  • Experience in DevSecOps and Cloud Security.

Technical Expertise:

  • Endpoint and network security concepts.
  • Cryptography and data security.
  • Some knowledge of GDPR & PCI-DSS
  • Strong experience of AWS and ideally certified
  • Forensic investigation techniques.
  • Experience with security technologies (e.g., SIEM, DLP, IDS, IPS).
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Security Centre and Sentinel.
  • Understanding of ISO27001:22, NIST, and secure software development

Pay: £80,000.00-£100,000.00 per year
