Job Description

The Data Scientist will be responsible for driving innovation in our business and add value to our insurer partners. This will be based on analysing large sets of data to derive actionable insights that will drive business decisions. This role involves working closely with various departments to understand their data needs and provide solutions that enhance data quality and utilisation.

Data Scientist Key Responsibilities:

  • Collect, process, and analyse large datasets to identify trends, patterns, and insights.
  • Develop and implement data models and algorithms to solve complex business problems.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand their data requirements and provide data-driven solutions.
  • Create and maintain dashboards and reports to visualise data insights.
  • Ensure data quality and integrity by implementing best practices in data management.
  • Stay updated with the latest trends and technologies in data science and analytics.
  • Build, validate and monitor predictive models to grow business confidence.
  • Cultivating relationships cross functionally with stakeholders across Carpenters Group and partners

Experience & Knowedge:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in data analysis, statistical modelling, and machine learning.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, or SQL.
  • Experience with data visualisation tools, Power BI essential
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Experience with big data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, or similar.
  • Knowledge of cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
  • Familiarity with data warehousing and ETL processes.
  • Commercial understanding
  • Legal and/or Insurance industry knowledge desirable
  • Detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Proactive and innovative mind-set.
