Highly skilled and motivated Senior Laravel Developer to lead and build the development of our web and cloud-based applications. This role is designed for an individual who not only excels technically but also has a passion for leadership and team growth. As a senior team member, you will architect, develop, and scale complex applications, while implementing industry-standard processes and frameworks. You will collaborate closely with the owner and management team, helping to drive the company’s technical direction and long-term growth.

Laravel Developer Key Responsibilities:

• Team Leadership: Lead, mentor and grow a team of developers, providing technical guidance and fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous learning.
• Project Management: Establish and uphold industry-standard frameworks and best practices for project planning, development workflows, and quality assurance.
• Technical Excellence: Design, develop, and maintain scalable and high-performance applications using PHP and Laravel.
• System Architecture: Lead architectural discussions, ensuring best practices in coding, system design, and project scalability.
• Migration Projects: Drive the migration of legacy codebases to Laravel, ensuring maintainability and scalability.
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into robust technical solutions.
• Strategic Contribution: Actively contribute to the company’s strategic development and product roadmap.

Essential Skills & Experience

• 4+ years of professional experience in PHP development, with a strong focus on Laravel.
• Proven experience in leading development teams, including task delegation, performance reviews, and mentorship.
• Advanced knowledge of MySQL and database optimisation.
• Expertise in Git and version control systems.
• Strong analytical skills, with the ability to solve complex problems and work independently.
• Familiarity with Agile, Scrum, or other project management methodologies to ensure efficient team operations.
• Ability to implement and uphold industry-standard processes and best practices in development, including structured workflows, code reviews, and documentation protocols.

Desirable Skills & Experience:

• Experience in scaling development teams and structuring workflows to support company growth.
• Knowledge of Backpack for Laravel and other Laravel-specific tools.
• Experience with modern testing practices (e.g., unit testing, TDD) and continuous integration/delivery (CI/CD).
• Proficiency with core web technologies, including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and frameworks such as Vue.js or React.
• DevOps and deployment experience, including understanding of cloud platforms (DigitalOcean, AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• Proficiency in tools like Jira, Confluence, or similar to streamline project management and documentation.
