Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and innovative Web Developer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in web development technologies and a passion for creating user-friendly, visually appealing, and efficient web applications. The job involves using creativity, design skills, and technical knowledge for the development and maintenance of websites. You will be responsible for developing and maintaining web applications, ensuring optimal performance and responsiveness across various devices.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain high-quality web applications using different languages such as HTML, Java, and other relevant technologies.
  • Working with Designers to create a website that matches the visual design intent.
  • Participate in daily Scrum's and work with the team to gather and refine requirements and specifications for content development and ensure timely project delivery and effective team collaboration.
  • Utilise data visualisation techniques to present complex data in an understandable format.
  • Work with content management systems such as Drupal to create and manage website content effectively.
  • Conduct code reviews and maintain version control using SVN to ensure code quality and integrity.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to web applications, ensuring minimal downtime.
  • Developing contingency plans in the event of websites going down.
  • Creating and maintaining the documentation for software used.
  • Improving and enhancing websites after they have been created.

Qualifications:

  • 1 year+ proven experience as a Web Developer or similar role with a strong portfolio of completed projects.
  • Degree in web design/computer science is desirable
  • Knowledge on developing, updating, repairing and modifying applications is desirable.
  • Proficiency in HTML, Java, and familiarity with frameworks such as Scrum.
  • Experience with UI design principles and best practices for responsive design.
  • Knowledge of data visualisation tools and techniques is advantageous.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Eagerness to learn and expand skillset.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: £28,782.00-£30,515.00 per year
