Job Description

An experienced PHP developer required with an in-depth knowledge of Magento Commerce Cloud and an ability to fully customise the system to the business requirements

Senior Magento Developer Key Responsibilities

  • Working alongside our existing developers to ensure that all code is consistent, efficient, and maintainable.
  • Mentoring and collaborating with members of the marketing team. Working closely with the systems team to ensure compatibility and continuity across all systems.
  • Helping us in shaping our ecommerce experience for our B2B and B2C customers
  • Working with APIs to integrate various back-end systems
  • Build bespoke modules or advise on off-the-shelf solutions to meet tech requirements
  • Issue investigation, bug fixing and testing
  • Website performance and optimisation - employ various techniques to optimize website speed and ensure a smooth user experience
  • General site maintenance including security patches and version upgrades
  • Create and maintain documentation for application coding and project development
  • Maintain a full understanding of company processes, policies, guidelines and contractual obligations and ensuring these are consistently followed.
  • Stay current with the latest developments’ technologies
  • As the company culture promotes helping others, ad hoc tasks may be assigned to the job holder that are not listed above
  • The job holder is expected to understand and work according to the requirements of the Quality Management System

Essential Skills:

  • Excellent commercial experience of Magento 2/Adobe Commerce Cloud development and architecture.
  • Experience of multi store Magento sites
  • Excellent PHP, MySQL, PHTML, HTML, CSS, XML and Javascript
  • Familiarity with third-party integrations, payment gateways, and shipping modules.
  • Experience integrating third party services such as payment gateways, shipping providers, and marketing automation tools.
  • Experience of Docker
  • Experience with deployment workflows
  • Strong communication skills
  • An appetite for personal learning and development
  • A good understanding of internet architecture
  • Understanding of UX and responsive design and development requirements

Desirable skills:

  • Experience integrating third party systems with Magento such as Netsuite, Akeneo and ChannelAdvisor
  • Experience with NewRelic
  • Magento certification
