Job Description

Are you a professional Applications engineer with 3-5 years of experience working in a regulated industry? We are investing in digital pathology with a new role in an expanding team.

We are looking for application engineers who can support and implement application development and integrate patches from support collaborators. Applications specialise in high-speed digital imaging techniques and user interfaces for scanning instruments, production test software, and investigative analysis. The scanner is a new investment and expansion of our portfolio of equipment for pathology laboratories.

Medical device development is an advantage but we can cross-train from other industries.

The software is developed in C# and C++ and utilises modern software development processes. There is a minimum of 40% documentation activity within a regulated (BSEN62304) life cycle.

This is a Hybrid opportunity with work at Runcorn UK on a business needs basis – average expected to be 10% per annum on site.

Essential Job Skills Required for Applications Software Engineer:

Excellent C#
XAML
.Net Framework, Windows Service Applications
C++
Unit and system test in regulated industries.
Experience in reverse engineering code into articulate requirements and design details.
Full software development life-cycle.

Desirable Job Skills:

Image capture and processing
Networking and data storage
Chromium Embedded Framework
Knowledge of BS EN 62304, ISO 13485, ISO 14971
Software development experience within the Medical Device sector (or similar highly regulated environment).

Qualifications/Skills:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent in an engineering or computer science discipline preferred.
