Job Description

As an AI Resercher you will be an integral part of a cross-functional team tasked with solving complex problems using cutting-edge AI research. You’ll have the opportunity to explore, prototype, and deploy innovative machine learning models that drive the effectiveness and value of our products.

Your responsibilities will span the entire ML lifecycle, from identifying opportunities for AI solutions, conducting feasibility studies, and developing prototypes, to validating and scaling solutions for production. Collaboration will be at the heart of your work, as you’ll work closely with engineers, product managers, and other researchers to ensure our AI systems deliver measurable impact for users.

About the team - What do we do?

The Risk team’s mission is to enable our customers to make better, faster decisions using trusted and explainable AI. We focus on developing and refining state of the art solutions in areas like entity extraction, text classification and event detection.

This team operates at the intersection of cutting edge AI research and real-world application, leveraging diverse datasets to continuously improve the performance and scalability of our systems.

Day-to-day responsibilities of an AI Researcher, what will you be doing?

  • Proposing, prototyping, and deploying innovative AI solutions to solve complex business challenges.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to define objectives, milestones, and deliverables.
  • Building, validating, and iterating on machine learning models, with a focus on natural language processing and entity linking.
  • Designing and running experiments to evaluate model performance and user impact.
  • Developing production-ready solutions in Python and working alongside engineers to integrate models into scalable systems.
  • Conducting regular monitoring and optimisation of AI models and pipelines to maintain efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Staying up-to-date with advancements in AI and identifying opportunities to apply novel techniques to our platform.

Must haves - What is vital for your success?

  • A strong foundation in machine learning and NLP, with a proven ability to apply them to real-world problems.
  • 3–5 years of experience in delivering business impact through ML-driven products, including end-to-end development from research to production.
  • Proficiency in Python and experience with machine learning frameworks such as TensorFlow or PyTorch.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • A passion for solving ambiguous and open-ended problems, paired with a proactive, results-oriented mindset.
  • MSc in a relevant field (e.g., Machine Learning, Data Science, Natural Language Processing).

Preferred qualifications - What could help you even more?

  • PhD in a relevant field.
  • Experience deploying and maintaining machine learning models in production environments.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS or similar.
  • Hands-on experience with large-scale datasets and distributed computing frameworks.
