Job Description

We are looking for a Cloud Security Engineer on a 12 month fixed term basis to work as part of the Cyber Security Team responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the security infrastructure for cloud-based systems. This role involves ensuring the protection of sensitive data, managing security controls, and addressing potential vulnerabilities across public, private, and hybrid cloud environments. The Cloud Security Engineer collaborates with DevOps, IT teams, and other stakeholders to establish best practices for cloud security and compliance.

You will be accountable for:

  •     Contributing to the Cyber Security maturity improvement roadmap to improve the security landscape
  •     Participating in development of security policies, standards, and processes.
  •     Deploying, configuring, and monitoring cloud security solutions such as firewalls, encryption, identity and access management (IAM), and data protection mechanisms.
  •     Identifying and mitigating vulnerabilities in cloud environments through regular audits and assessments.
  •     Applying security patches, updates, and configuration changes to ensure cloud infrastructure is protected against threats.
  •     Implementing and managing Intrusion Detection and Prevention Systems (IDPS) for cloud platforms.
  •     Identifying risks and areas of exposure in applications developed by Evri
  •     Reading and understanding security test reports. Apply remediations as recommended to remove vulnerabilities
  •     Monitoring industry trends and threat landscape and recommend necessary controls or countermeasures.
  •     Integrating security tools into development teams CI/CD process
  •     Responding to cloud security incidents, perform root cause analysis, and develop mitigation plans.
  •     Working with Engineering, Architecture, and IT teams to meet (SLAs) and business metrics.

To be successful as a Cloud Security Engineer you will require the following...

  •     3+ Years experience in Cyber Security, or Cloud Security.
  •     Strong working knowledge of security infrastructure — e.g., firewalls, intrusion prevention systems (IPSs), web application firewalls (WAFs), endpoint protection, SIEM and log management technology
  •     Conceptual understanding of software development principles and SDLC models.
  •     Experience in secure deployment of cloud infrastructure particularly Amazon Web Services (AWS)
  •     Knowledge of encryption technologies, secure communications, and secure credentials management.
  •     Experienced in using C#, .NET, or a similar programming language.
  •     Advanced knowledge of common application vulnerabilities and respective mitigations, (e.g.: XSS, CSRF, SQL injection, cookie/header/encoding manipulation, input/output validation, session replay).
  •     General knowledge of security industry standards (NIST, PCI, ISO), best practices (ITIL), regulations (DPA), news, and other relevant Cyber Security information.
  •     Ability to interpret business, technology and threat drivers, and develop practical security roadmaps to deal with these drivers
