Job Description

A private hospital located in Sloane Street Chelsea, specialising in plastic surgery, dermatology and non-surgical aesthetic procedures. The Clinic revenues have grown 20% CAGR and we are now looking for a Finance Director to provide Board-level strategic financial leadership, and work with the management team to manage risk, and support overall business growth – organic and inorganic.

The successful candidate will have Finance Director experience in small to medium , consumer-orientated business. The candidate will be as comfortable delivering as they are delegating, taking a lead role in managing reporting processes, financial controls, month-end, stock, audit and all other elements of financial accounting.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Management:

  • Drive financial strategy, planning and analysis to support business growth.
  • Oversee all aspects of financial operations, including accounting, treasury, and tax.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations and accounting standards
  • Manage cash flow and liquidity.
  • Negotiate and manage banking relationships.
  • Deliver Payroll.

Financial Planning and Analysis:

  • Prepare and analyze financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
  • Develop and manage budgets, forecasts, and financial models.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive financial plans, budgets, and forecasts.
  • Analyze financial data to identify trends, opportunities, and risks.
  • Prepare and deliver financial reports and presentations for Board, executive management and stakeholders.
  • Conduct financial modelling and scenario planning.

Risk Management:

  • Identify and assess financial risks.
  • Develop and implement strategies to mitigate risk.

Operational:

  • Manage PMI insurance programs.
  • Own cost control programme including stock management.

Strategic Planning:

  • Collaborate with Board and Senior Leadership team to develop and execute strategic financial plans.
  • Provide financial analysis and advice to support business decisions.
  • Identify opportunities for growth and cost reduction.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive financial strategies aligned with the organization's overall business objectives.
  • Conduct financial analysis to identify growth opportunities and potential risks.
  • Provide financial advice and support to the executive team.

Growth & External Relationships:

  • Conduct financial due diligence for mergers, acquisitions, and investments.
  • Communicate with investors, analysts, and other stakeholders.
  • Prepare financial reports and presentations.
  • Manage investor relations events and conferences.·

Team Leadership:

  • Lead, mentor and develop and manage the finance team, including hiring, training, and development, to strive for operational excellence.
  • Foster a positive and collaborative work environment.·

IT:

  • Ownership of IT-driven performance reporting including weekly KPIs,

Compliance:

  • Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations
  • Lead, manage and oversee audits processes, implementing changes to improve governance as required.
  • Manage VAT processes ensuring timely payments are made on schedule
  • Reporting to external bodies (PHIN)
  • Patient record compliance reporting

Qualifications and experience:

  • Qualified accountant - ACCA preferred
  • Small business background essential
  • Consumer business background essential – comfortable dealing with large numbers of transactions
  • Strong IT skills
  • Proven ability to develop and enforce strong control environment
  • Detail orientated, constantly challenging and verifying numbers, able to deal with complex issues
  • Flexible and able to operate in a continually changing environment and at a high level of workload
  • Ambitious self - starter with pragmatic, hands on, 'can do’ attitude
  • Strong leader and strong communicator
  • Process review and improvement skills
