What you’ll make happen:

• Ensuring the availability of all IT systems, including Microsoft 365 & Azure.
• Performing routine maintenance and upgrading of IT systems.
• Maintaining the company standard of automated database administration
• Establish and maintain effective backup and recovery procedures to prevent data loss and ensure business continuity
• Develop and implement database structures that align with the company requirements and best practices
• Implement and maintain robust security measures to safeguard sensitive data
• Developing your career, acquiring qualifications and certifications along the way to becoming a cloud database subject manager expert

Who we’re looking for from the Senior IT Engineer

Essential

• Has proven experience in an IT engineer role or other relevant technical position
• Proficiency in working with various database management systems such as SQL Server and MySQL
• Demonstrated experience in implementing and maintaining robust data security measures
• Familiarity with database monitoring tools and the ability to set up effective alerting systems
• Strong problem-resolution/root-cause analysis and decision-making skills
• Demonstrable background in establishing and maintaining effective backup and recovery procedures

Desirable

• Exposure to working with Azure Database services such as Azure SQL Database, Azure SQL Managed Instance and Azure Redis Cache
• Experience of ETL using technologies such as Azure Data Factory/Microsoft SSIS
• Familiarity with Microsoft Power Platform technologies
• Understanding of ISO27001 & PCI requirements, as well as the regulatory compliance requirements of GDPR and FCA
• Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate and/or Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate

• A competitive salary of £35,000 to £45,000 depending on experience
