Job Description

InstaVolt is the largest owner-operator of rapid electric vehicle charging stations across the UK and we pride ourselves on customer experience and satisfaction. Our teams provide a full range of support to our stations, as well as playing a crucial role in the expansion of the network and the continuation of our reputation as the best in the industry.

To support our growth, we are looking to recruit a DevOps Engineer, to help deliver business objectives.

You will join a team responsible for maintaining and enhancing new and existing DevOps and CI/CD processes, working with the software engineering teams to help build systems and test automation infrastructure. This role requires a strong background in software development and experience in a DevOps role, with excellent technical and communication skills.

This role is based at our HQ on Chineham Business Park and will be primarily office-based with some flexibility to work from home each week.

DevOps Engineer
Location: Basingstoke
Salary: £65,000 – £75,000 Depending on experience + 10% Discretionary Bonus

About the role:

Work closely with development teams, driving timely project delivery and ensuring adherence to rigorous quality standards.
Streamline our software delivery process via development and deployment of continuous integration and delivery pipelines.
Maintain high levels of availability and reliability through monitoring and troubleshooting of production systems.
Implement and manage stringent security measures to safeguard systems and data.
Through team collaboration, establish and enforce infrastructure and automation best practices, for example Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and Immutable Infrastructure.
Actively manage design, development, and code reviews to ensure high code quality, ensuring positive team collaboration.
Strive to continuously improve processes and tools by staying current on emerging DevOps trends and technologies.
Skills we are looking for:

Practical use of AWS (VPC, Gateways, Lambas, Cloudwatch, Code build/pipeline)
Solid background in software development and experience in delivery in a complex environment.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities effectively.
Collaborative and pragmatic nature with great communication skills, both verbal and written.
Advocate of security principles and best practices for cloud-based development.
