About the role:

Following sustained business growth, exciting opportunities have become available for additional Control System Engineers to join our team.

The Control System Software Engineer is responsible for the project requirement review, development, testing, installation and commissioning of software to achieve automation project objectives. The size and scale of the projects can vary from a simple change to accommodate new plant instrumentation to large new plant software design and development.

There is opportunity to work on a variety of customer manufacturing sites, using a range of software technologies. Working within a team there is a support network as well as broad training available to allow you to achieve your professional development goals, while putting learning into practice.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Reviewing customer requirements,
  • Production and maintenance of requirements, design, test and user documentation,
  • Control System Software development (PLC/DCS, HMI and SCADA),
  • System and factory testing,
  • Customer site-based installation and commissioning,
  • Maintain and develop your technical skills to meet the demands of an ever changing and evolving environment
  • Liaising with the Project Manager to deliver high-quality, structured software within agreed timeframes.

The Candidate:

What we need from you:

  • Be a dynamic and proactive team player who strives to deliver high-quality work at the highest level of customer service.
  • Prior experience in a similar role using at least one of the following technologies:
  • PLC (primarily Siemens, Rockwell and Schneider)
  • SCADA (primarily Siemens, Rockwell, Wonderware/AVEVA and GE)
  • DCS (primarily Siemens)
  • Ideally Degree qualified (or equivalent) in an Engineering related subject.
  • Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communications skills
  • You must be eligible to work in the UK and have a full UK driving licence.
  • It would be advantageous to have:
  • Experience delivering automation within the Food and Beverage sector,
  • Functional and/or Machine Safety Applications (BS EN 61511, BS EN 62061)
  • Understanding of standards including Cyber Security (IEC 62443)
