Job Description

As a Junior Front End Developer, you’ll work with the development team to translate visual design concepts into working websites. You’ll bring designs to life, focusing on user experience, interactivity, animation and optimisation.

About Us:

We’re an award-winning web design agency passionate about creating interactive, custom-built, and SEO-optimised websites. Since our founding in 2013, we’ve designed and developed over 500 unique websites, always striving to push the boundaries of design, UI/UX, and technology. Our team is constantly evolving, refining our skills, and embracing new ideas to deliver the best possible results for our clients.

Beyond the work, we’re a team that values positivity, celebrates achievements, and recognises every contribution. If you’re looking for a collaborative and innovative environment where your work truly makes an impact, we’d love to have you on board!

Some of your key responsibilities for the Junior Front End Developer will include:

  • Collaborating with designers and developers to translate creative concepts into engaging, responsive web experiences.
  • Implementing interactive elements and animations to elevate user experience, using JS libraries like GSAP or similar tools.
  • Building and maintaining websites with HTML, CSS, and Javascript (basic knowledge required – we’ll help you grow!).
  • Ensuring designs are implemented responsively with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Testing and troubleshooting across browsers and devices, to ensure compatibility and performance.
  • Learning and contributing to the development of new ideas, techniques, and trends in design and front-end development.

You’ll work with multiple team members to contribute to the final product, including:

  • Working with our Designers to propose interactivity and animation & create working code from flat design files.
  • Working with our Front End Developers to learn & improve your coding skills whilst contributing to our front-end site builds, and eventually taking on your own full front-end projects.
  • Working with our Back End Developers to assist with integrating your code into WordPress websites as efficiently as possible.
  • Working with our Project Managers to keep on top of your schedule, manage your workload and effectively communicate ideas & challenges.

While you don’t necessarily have extensive coding experience, a strong eye for detail, ability to work efficiently, and eagerness to learn and expand your creativity are essential.

This is a Hybrid / Semi-Remote role based out of our Surrey Office. Initially, you’ll be expected to work in the office full-time as it will be the best way to integrate with our team and grow as a developer. Once settled in, opportunities for remote working will be available.

To excel in this role, you’ll have skills and experience such as:

  • An appreciation for good design, UI and UX - this can’t be easily taught, so we’re looking for someone who has an eye for what works well, and what doesn’t.
  • A passion for design and interactivity – you enjoy creating things that feel alive!
  • A basic understanding of HTML, CSS, and Javascript – advanced skills are a bonus but not required, you’ll be eager to pick them up.
  • Experience or interest in animation tools / software and creating smooth user interactions.
  • Keen attention to detail, a pro-active approach to problem-solving and willingness to experiment with creative ideas.
  • A portfolio showcasing your creativity – this could be personal projects, design work, or interactive experiments.
  • An eagerness to learn and grow in a supportive, creative team environment - you’re always looking for opportunities to improve your knowledge & skill set.
  • A good understanding of Figma, Adobe, or similar design/animation tools is a bonus.

What’s it like to work here?

Our studio strikes the perfect balance between creative and professional, focused on creating an uplifting, supportive vibe. We’re here to support your growth and make sure every day’s a win for you and the team!

Benefits: We have some great perks, including:

  • Flexible hours
  • Free snacks & drinks in the office
  • Casual dress code
  • Birthday meal / drinks
  • Competitive salary
  • Company events
  • Company pension
  • Free On-site parking
  • Work from home

What to expect after applying:

If we are impressed by your application, we’ll be in touch to set up a call so that we can get to know you. You’ll then be invited to come to our office for a more in-depth chat, and we may ask you to take home a small development task, as an opportunity for you to show us your skills and adaptability. There may then be a 2nd interview stage, before we decide who we’re going to take on board.

This role is a great opportunity to develop your coding skills, while contributing to visually engaging and interactive projects at a top web design agency.
