We are seeking a skilled and motivated Data Engineer to join our Engineering team. As a Data Engineer, you will play a crucial role in designing, building, and maintaining the data infrastructure that supports our data platform. You will be responsible for ensuring data quality, accessibility, and readiness for analysis, enabling data-driven decision-making and product innovation.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain robust and scalable data pipelines to collect, process, and transform raw data from various sources into usable formats.
  • Construct and manage data storage solutions, including data warehouses and data lakes, to ensure efficient data organization and retrieval.
  • Implement ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes to integrate data from disparate systems.
  • Develop and deploy data quality checks and validation procedures to guarantee data accuracy and integrity.
  • Design and develop dashboards and reports to visualize key performance indicators (KPIs) and provide insights into product usage and communication effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with the rest of the business to understand data requirements and support data-driven initiatives.
  • Optimize data storage and processing workflows to ensure scalability and cost-effectiveness.
  • Stay current with industry best practices and emerging technologies in data engineering.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Proven experience as a Data Engineer or in a similar role.
  • Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts and data modeling techniques.
  • Proficiency in SQL and experience with relational databases.
  • Experience with data pipeline development and ETL processes.
  • Familiarity with big data technologies and cloud-based data platforms.
  • Experience with data visualization tools and techniques
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS), including a deep understanding of its core services such as EC2, S3, RDS, and Lambda. Proficiency in designing and implementing data pipelines, data warehouses, and data lakes on AWS. Experience with tools such as AWS Glue, Athena, Redshift, and Kinesis is highly desirable.

Bonus Points:

  • Experience with AI/ML model development and deployment.
  • Familiarity with healthcare data.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

Key Skills and Proficiencies:

  • A tenacious attitude to self learning to ensure the best solution to a problem.
  • Deep understanding of version control with Git.
  • Experience using issue management tools like JIRA.
  • Ability to accurately estimate development tasks.
