Job Description

We are seeking a talented and experienced Engineering Manager to join our team in the UK. As an Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for leading and managing a team of engineers, overseeing their performance, utilisation, parts ordering, returning of parts, and communication with the Call Centre. You will play a crucial role in ensuring that our customers receive the best possible service by working closely with Contract Managers and ensuring that our engineers provide accurate ETA's and arrive on time.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a team of engineers, providing coaching, mentorship, and guidance to ensure high performance and job satisfaction.
  • Oversee the performance and utilisation of the engineering team, optimising resources and ensuring efficient operations.
  • Manage parts ordering and returns, ensuring that the team has the necessary materials to complete their tasks effectively.
  • Communicate effectively with the Call Centre to coordinate service requests, prioritise tasks, and address customer concerns.
  • Ensure that engineers complete job sheets in a timely manner, maintaining accurate records of work completed and any issues encountered.
  • Collaborate with Contract Managers to deliver exceptional service to customers, addressing any service issues and implementing improvements as needed.
  • Monitor and track engineer ETA's to ensure timely service delivery and customer satisfaction.
  • Implement processes and procedures to improve operational efficiency and performance of the engineering team.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field (preferred).
  • Proven experience in a managerial role, preferably in a technical or engineering environment.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a high-performing team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Solid understanding of parts ordering processes, inventory management, and technical support operations.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations and best practices in the engineering field.
  • Experience working with contract management and customer service is a plus.
