This role is to develop client feedback software which provides our clients with a 24/7 service. This work involves designing and planning, developing applications primarily in C# and SQLServer, working with the technical team, programme managers and network engineers. You will need a good standard of maths, DevOps experience, agile and CMMI approaches to software development.
This role would suit an experienced software developer who wants to widen their experience by also gaining valuable experience in data management, AI, SDLC management and application security.

Technical skills:
- Highly competent developing dynamic ASP.NET Web Forms, using C#, VB.NET, SQLServer, TSQL, AJAX, some use of JavaScript and jQuery. VB.NET for supporting and upgrading older pages, with a focus on transitioning to C#.
- Strong understanding of enterprise software, including Microsoft Azure, Exchange, SQL Server, IIS, DevOps, Microsoft Office, and Windows 365 environments.
- Understanding how to configure and manage IIS is crucial for deploying and hosting .NET applications. This includes skills such as setting up websites, managing application pools, and handling security settings.
- Understanding of basic networking concepts, such as DNS, TCP/IP, and AD, Group Policy to troubleshoot connectivity issues.
- Proficiency in unit testing, integration testing, and using debugging tools to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
- 5 years’ experience in a development role
- Personal skills
- Good written and spoken English language skills
- Good standard of maths and basic statistics
- Consistent and administratively competent - for example record keeping, checking in work, completing time records, test notes
- Empathetic when working with clients and colleagues and as part of a team
- Capable of receiving a brief, interpreting the request, discussing how you plan to proceed with the work, and complete it
Availability:
- Located within 20-30 minutes travelling time of Cranfield (MK43) with own transport to travel into the office
- Be able to participate in a Duty IT Roster, attending offices out of working hours to deal with an IT Incident (server failure etc.) – current rota is one week in 4, but this may reduce to one week in 5 or 6 in the future.
- Willingness to work flexibly outside normal working hours during periods of job/software rollouts/maintenance upgrades, or when a time critical date is approaching.
The key responsibilities of this role:
- Develop CustomServe software and databases following the company’s SDLC, whilst maintaining our services to clients
- Assist in configuring CustomServe, validation of configurations, technical documentation
- Deliver accurate information to Acuigen and its clients from databases
- Provide technical and data support for internal and external clients
- To be part of a rostered (out of hours) duty IT team providing network support (duty bonus payable when providing cover)
- Support the Business Development team when requested
- Assist in maintaining physical and electronic security, and network availability
- Understand and comply with Market Research Society rules, our ISO 27001, ISO 9001, ISO 20252 systems, the UK Data Protection Act 2018 & GDPR, Health & Safety and Fire Regulations.
