We have an exciting opportunity for 2 software developers to join our team. Reporting into our Data Analytics Manager you will be responsible for designing, coding, testing, and deploying applications and systems. The ideal candidate will work collaboratively to understand requirements, troubleshoot issues, and enhance application performance. Key responsibilities include writing clean, scalable code, participating in code reviews, and maintaining software documentation. Candidates should be proficient in relevant programming languages (Java, JavaScript, Python), knowledge of front-end technologies and have knowledge of Linux administration.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain secure software applications according to project requirements
- Collaboration with product owners and business analysts to define, design, test and release new features
- Performing trials, testing and quality checks to ensure strong functionality and optimisation
- Documenting development processes, code changes, and technical specifications
- Writing clean, scalable, and efficient code
- Maintaining code quality, organisation, and automation
- Troubleshooting, debugging, and upgrading existing software
- Ensuring software is up to date with the latest technologies and industry trends
- Integrating software systems together that are not compatible out of the box
Technical Skills
- Proven experience as a Software Developer or similar role
- Proficiency in one or more programming languages such as Java, Python or JavaScript
- Proficiency in developing RESTful APIs
- Knowledge of front-end technologies (e.g., HTML, CSS, JavaScript frameworks).
- Knowledge of Linux administration, Unix command-line interface (CLI), and common utilities.
- Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git).
- Familiarity with containerisation technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
- Experience with databases like MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or similar.
- Experience with cloud services (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience)

Location: Remote / Hybrid based near Blandford Forum, Dorset. The post holder will need to reside inside the UK and have valid right to work in the UK.
