About the Role:

Join our Firmware Design team based in Brighton, where you'll work with disciplines across our development teams to design and refine firmware for our products, creating scalable and optimised embedded software solutions.

  • Understanding project requirements and translating them into effective firmware solutions across our range of wireless door locks, readers, controllers and peripherals.
  • Developing new and modifying existing firmware architectures for a range of technologies including embedded Linux, ARM Cortex-A and M, RTOS, BLE, Zigbee, RFID, UARTs, video, audio, and more.
  • Collaborating with other teams (Electronics, Mechanical and Manufacturing) proposing solutions and identifying risks.
  • Interfacing with Application Software to optimise product performance, and providing pre and post production support.
  • Designing, testing and debugging existing firmware products
  • Articulating progress and issues with clear technical updates to project teams.
  • Attending technical forums and contribute to decision-making to ensure progress of tasks.
  • Communicating technical changes to the team and support other team members in their deliverables.
  • Understanding and following the company design processes and procedures.
  • Assessing suitability of third-party and open-source software

What are we looking for?

  • Strong collaboration, communication and decision making skills.
  • Hands-on experience with Embedded Systems, and extensive experience in a similar role.
  • Proficiency in relevant Agile methodologies, IDEs (Keil Studio, Eclipse, Visual Studio) and programming languages (C, C++ & Python).
