The Role:

We're seeking a talented PHP Developer with a keen proficiency in custom WordPress and specialised expertise in WooCommerce for e-commerce functions. This role is central to our team, working to advance and fine-tune our online pharmacy platform to ensure it's user-friendly and meets the healthcare needs of our customers. We're open to part-time candidates for this role based at our vibrant Nottingham office. This position offers a chance to engage in significant healthcare technology projects directly impacting patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive the development and enhancement of our e-commerce platform with WooCommerce, prioritising security, usability, and efficiency.
  • Support the maintenance and advancement of custom PHP applications to guarantee top performance and security.
  • Develop Custom WordPress themes and plugins to align with business goals, enhancing user experience and interaction.
  • Manage and refine MySQL databases to uphold data integrity and ensure high-performance levels.
  • Apply front-end technologies (JavaScript, jQuery) to enrich the website's interactivity and aesthetic appeal.
  • Participate in UI/UX design processes, utilising Figma and AdobeXD, to continuously improve our customer's online journey.
  • Working with APIs and exploring AI technologies to bring innovative features to our digital offerings.
  • Utilise Docker for virtualisation and Git for version control, promoting an efficient development workflow.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a PHP developer, evidenced by a portfolio featuring PHP, WordPress, and WooCommerce projects.
  • Experience using styling pre-processors such as SCSS.
  • Expertise in MySQL, capable of managing and optimising databases effectively.
  • Solid understanding of front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery) and UI/UX design principles.
  • Knowledge of data security protocols.
  • Experience with Docker and Git.
  • Strong team player with excellent communication skills.
  • Driven by leveraging technology for the greater good.
