About the Role

An opportunity exists for a senior Digital Signage Applications Engineer to join the Trueform Digital team and work within the digital signage electrical engineering division. The role incorporates the roles of design, engineering, production and customer liaison.

The candidate is responsible for all aspects of the Electrical and Electronic components of the Trueform Digital display and digital signage product range throughout the product life cycle, working closely with the Mechanical Engineers to design and deliver the current and future product development and technology roadmap for the business.

Responsibilities & Duties

Your main responsibilities and duties will include:

  • Working closely with the Senior Management team the candidate will design, develop and deliver all Electrical & Electronic aspects of the Product and Technology Roadmap for the business.
  • Maintaining an up-to-date awareness of current and future display technologies.
  • Developing value-engineered products at the outset evaluating quality vs cost and design for manufacture.
  • Providing after-sales customer support, providing rapid assessment and diagnostics of product faults and liaising with client on resolution.
  • Fully supporting Sales and Production with technical solutions, cost inputs and a full documentation package including BOM’s, Build instructions and O&M manuals.
  • Leading the Product Approval process, liaising with external Approval Authorities e.g. BSI, UL, CSA, CE ensuring all products meet legislative and customer-specific requirements.
  • Managing prototype and trial builds of digital solutions.

Qualifications and Experience:

We are looking for someone who has the following qualifications and experience:

Required:

  • Degree in an Electronic/Electrical Engineering discipline
  • At least 10 years of Industrial experience in a manufacturing business
  • Electronic & Electrical design experience
  • Project Management experience
  • Excellent problem solver and decision-maker
  • Thorough understanding of Design for Manufacture principles
  • Sound understanding of Quality Management Systems
  • Expertise in product approval and certification process
  • Ability to comprehend commercial pressures driving down cost and lead time
  • Sound understanding of PC operating systems
  • Excellent root cause analysis methodology

Desirable:

  • Understanding of sheet metal design and fabrication
  • Expertise in Electro-mechanical systems for harsh environments
  • Expertise in digital signage thermal management & heat exchange systems
  • Knowledge of Network architecture including cellular networks and technology
  • Field experience in repairing and maintaining systems.
