Senior Data Scientist (ID: h59emrpK)

We’re looking for a commercially minded, relationship-driven ‘Senior Data Scientist’ to join our growing team and help drive strategic impact across the business.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys combining technical data science skills with a strong understanding of business context — someone who can partner with stakeholders, understand their challenges, and use data to deliver meaningful, measurable change.

Reporting into the Head of Data Science, you’ll support in expanding the team’s profile across the organisation, identifying high-impact opportunities for analytics, and working hands-on to deliver insight. As this is a senior role, you’ll also play a key part in influencing how data science is used across the company, and may take informal leadership of projects or team members as the function grows.

This role is Hybrid with a minimum of 2 days per week based out of our Hatfield office and some travel to other sites will be required.

As ‘Senior Data Scientist’ you will:

• Build strong relationships across the business to uncover high-impact opportunities where data science can drive measurable value
• Lead end-to-end data science projects, from discovery to delivery, ensuring outputs are both technically sound and commercially relevant
• Translate complex analysis into clear, compelling narratives for senior stakeholders, helping drive strategic decisions
• Collaborate with data scientists, data engineers, and reporting teams to deliver effective, scalable solutions
• Support the Head of Data Science in shaping team strategy, raising the profile of data science, and deepening its commercial influence
• Take on initiatives and stakeholder relationships that build toward broader leadership responsibilities over time

What qualifications, skills and experience do you need?

• Solid experience as a data scientist working in a commercial environment
• Proficiency in Python and familiarity with SQL
• Experience working with Azure tools such as Databricks and Data Factory (or similar cloud platforms)
• Proven ability to identify and solve high-value business problems using data
• Strong commercial acumen – able to balance technical possibility with business reality
• Experience leading or mentoring others is desirable
• Familiarity with data storytelling or dashboarding tools
• Prior experience working with stakeholders in senior or strategic roles
