About You:

We are seeking a Lead Data Scientist with a passion for building scalable data products using a range of coding practices. The role is pivotal in shaping our data strategy and designing, and implementing advanced data analytics solutions. Cloud and DevOps engineering to play a pivotal role in the agency. This is a high-impact role with a dynamic and collaborative product engineering organisation. As a core member of the engineering team, you will be expected to hit the ground running. You will have extensive input into the direction and how our products will be built. Your primary mission will be to build from scratch the backend systems and third-party integrations to enable all mobile and web applications to function along with providing services to other business units to enable them to do their job. This is a shared ownership team, so you relish in the operational side of the work and the building side, working with all team members. Responsibilities

  • Building scalable machine learning pipelines and using feature engineering and optimisation methods to improve data set performance
  • Working with Technologists to integrate and separate data feeds to map, produce, transform and test new scalable data sets
  • Developing interactive dashboards that combine visuals with real-time data
  • Generating large databases from various sources of structured and unstructured data
  • Using a range of programming languages to transform big data into data sets
  • Translating technical data to simple language giving recommendations and conclusions to stakeholders
  • Analysing data and generating statistical information to identify trends and patterns
  • Lead a team of data scientists, providing mentorship, guidance, and fostering a collaborative and innovative environment

Define prioritise and execute the data science strategy in alignment with the company’s goals and mission

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for data-driven insights across research, development, and commercialisation.
  • Communicate evolving data science strategies and outcomes clearly to stakeholders, ensuring a shared understanding.
  • Convey findings to organisational decision-makers, facilitating the integration of data insights into strategic planning.
  • Establish and enforce standard practices around delivery processes with version and change control.
  • Stay current with emerging trends, techniques, and technologies in data science to drive innovation within the company.

Would be good if you have.

  • Proven experience in Data Analytics
  • Proven experience in AWS and cloud computing
  • Proven experience in Data engineering
  • Experience with Infrastructure as code for all digital infrastructure
  • Experience in Python or equivalent languages.
  • Instinctively thinks security first
  • Experience with technologies like Docker, Serverless and microservices
  • Experience in interviewing, team building, mentoring and people development.
  • Extensive experience working iteratively in an agile environment.
  • Excellent problem-solving attitude and ability to think on your feet.
  • Good people skills with an appreciation for working with people as well as technology.
  • Experience with and supporter of Test-Driven Development with an insistence on Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery as cornerstones of the development practices.
  • Experience with CI/CD, including continuous Deployment.

Would be better if you had.

  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, and experience with relevant libraries and frameworks, and data pipeline tools like Databricks or Snowflake.
  • Familiarity with database management and database design, data layout for data lakes, and data engineering best practices.
  • Strong knowledge of statistical modelling, machine learning algorithms, and data mining techniques
  • Experience with data visualisation tools like Tableau, Power BI or D3.js
  • Familiarity with big data technologies like Hadoop, Spark or Kafka
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills
  • Experience with cloud computing platforms like AWS, GCP, or Azure
  • Knowledge of SQL and database management systems
  • Understanding of agile methodologies and project management practices
  • Experience with deep learning frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow or PyTorch)
  • Knowledge of Natural Language Processing (NLP) techniques
  • Familiarity with data governance and data privacy best practices

Location Hybrid. We are primarily remote, with regular colocation in London.
