This is an all-rounder role, so with multi-platform technical knowledge and experience, you’ll be proficient working on Linux-based systems, as well as creating and supporting front-end sites, primarily in WordPress, but among other CMSs.

At PMW, we’re a creative bunch, working on clients’ websites, graphic design needs, PR and advertising campaigns and digital marketing requirements. We partner with a wide range of industries from big name financial companies and event venues to schools, charities, and tech wizards.

Working for PMW is fun, fast-paced, and exciting, with no two days the same and there’s never a dull moment.

What you’ll be doing (day-to-day):

  • develop new websites from in-house designs and modify templates where required
  • launch sites following best practice to maintain SEO rankings and site availability
  • Trouble-shoot performance issues and audits
  • Ensure cross-platform optimisation for all devices and viewports, and responsiveness of apps
  • Play a key role in the development and maintenance of retained client websites
  • Conducting site audits, updates & recommendations for website improvements including occasionally liaising with clients
  • Fault resolution & site maintenance of hosted websites
  • Actively participating in creative & planning meetings to ensure websites are built with best practice guidelines in mind
  • You will ensure the accessibility and performance of website migrations, mitigating any risks throughout the launch process
  • Estimating project timescales for new projects
  • Actively reporting on project progress, with an awareness of the commercial implications of project delays or changes
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to achieve timely project completion
  • Supporting colleagues to better understand technical issues and considerations
  • Maintaining and sharing industry knowledge and updates on website trends & technology improvements

The skills, capabilities & person we are looking for:

  • Proficiency in content management systems, particularly WordPress
  • Proficient in fundamental front-end languages such as HTML, CSS, SCSS, and JavaScript
  • Prior knowledge of working with WordPress Elementor is desirable
  • Linux based server experience preferable
  • Sound knowledge of DNS. Code deployment including Envoyer & Forge an advantage
  • Excellent verbal communication skills
  • An excellent problem-solver; proven debugging and troubleshooting skills
  • Some experience of database technology such as MySQL preferable but not essential
  • You seek best practices and share your knowledge with others. You love working in teams, collaborating with other departments, and can work well independently
  • Attention to detail and methodical working approach
  • Well-presented with a friendly, confident, and professional manner
  • Giving training to colleagues and sharing technical knowledge/news/updates and advances
