Job Description

Arcas Technology is working closely with a prominent Consultancy that is currently seeking a skilled IT Infrastructure Engineer to join their team on a permanent basis.

As an IT Cloud and Infrastructure Technician, you will be responsible for overseeing and maintaining the company's entire IT infrastructure, including servers, networking equipment, cloud-based systems, telephony, workstations, and peripherals. Your goal will be to ensure the highest levels of security and availability across all systems. Additionally, you will be involved in the planning and execution of processes to ensure that the systems align with business objectives, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage user accounts, permissions, access rights, and storage solutions, ensuring compliance with business needs and industry regulations related to security, privacy, and compliance.
  • Perform tasks related to network engineering, business application management, and database administration, ensuring that desktop and server environments adhere to industry best practices.
  • Assist with the deployment of workstations, servers, printers, and firewalls as needed.
  • Safeguard enterprise data integrity and security, adhering to industry standards for privacy and compliance.
  • Support the administration of operating systems and user software, including centralized deployment of security patches and updates.
  • Set up and manage workstation connectivity, local area networks (LAN), Wi-Fi, and internet access.
  • Monitor the performance of systems, servers, applications, and networks, addressing any issues as they arise.
  • Perform routine system backups and test restore procedures to ensure system reliability.
  • Proactively troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software issues across servers, workstations, and network devices.
  • Utilise data analytics to generate reports that meet business requirements.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation, procedures, and training materials for system administration and optimal use.
  • Collaborate with third-party vendors to ensure service level agreements (SLAs) are met and to resolve issues when necessary.

Essential Skills:

  • Expertise in Windows Server and Desktop operating systems
  • Proficiency with VMware and Veeam
  • Experience with SAN technologies
  • Competence in firewall configuration and maintenance
  • Strong knowledge of Active Directory, Group Policy, DHCP, and DNS
  • Familiarity with remote working technologies like DirectAccess, VPN, and Intune
  • Strong understanding of Networking and Wireless Infrastructure
  • Data analytics skills with SQL, Postgres, BI, or similar tools
  • Microsoft SharePoint experience
  • Management of Azure and Intune environments

Pay: £50,000.00-£60,000.00 per year
