Syos is a pioneering aerospace and technology company at the forefront of utilitarian autonomous vehicles. We specialize in the development of cutting-edge unmanned vehicles and are expanding production capability across a range of sectors in the UK. We are expanding our UK programme looking for a skilled and motivated Mechatronics or Software Engineer to join our rapidly expanding production and engineering team.
The role:
This role will be a key part of the USV production and engineering development team as a Mechatronics or Software Engineer and will be responsible for the production, configuration, testing and development of unmanned marine platforms.
Additionally, the role will lead and command USV operations in a testing and quality assurance capacity. The right person will have good communication skills to report/ with our New Zealand engineering office and a posses or has willingness to learn and work in an environment beyond that of a pure software or mechatronics role.
The role is full time, based at SYOS UK premises in Fareham.
The ideal candidate will have:
Relevant degree in Software or Mechatronics Engineering or equivalent experience, preferably with a hardware/software avionics bias
Implementing production practises for software and hardware
Strong background in linux systems.
MUST have experience with system and sub system installation & integration of autopilot flight controller systems
Experience in embedded programming, preferably in C on micro-controllers.
Experience in the development of PC-based engineering applications
Working knowledge of common data buses including Ethernet, CAN, RS-232.
Familiar or have experience with software networking pipelines.
Networking knowledge
GCS operations experience
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
Strong time management
Ability to work independently
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: £55,000.00-£65,000.00 per year
