Job Description

As a Business Embedded Software Engineer, you will be part of the Operations team, working to ensure that our internal teams, whether in Sales, Customer Success or Finance take full advantage of technology, while helping Homebuyers and Financial Advisors to also take advantage of technology.

This role is ideal for a technically-minded individual, who also has an interest in business, and wants to understand how a business operates and how technology can streamline business practices. You will enjoy tinkering with tools and be a self-sufficient learner and executor, enabling integrations between our platform with internal business tools such as Slack, MS Teams, Xero, Jira and Zendesk. You’ll also build quick internal tools to streamline our business processes. With your help data flow throughout the business with ease.

The role will require collaborating with a variety of stakeholders across Product, Engineering, Design, Finance, HR, Marketing, Customer Success, Sales, and Senior Management, to understand the business’ technological needs, balance priorities, and ship the right products and features to the market.

About Us:

We are rebuilding the UK’s £1.4 trillion mortgage market from the ground up, with a completely new, end-to-end management system for mortgages.

Our platform cuts out the unnecessary admin, pain and friction from buying a home. We're covering the entire journey, from figuring out what you can borrow, to getting your keys. We're guided both by the voice of real home buyers and by our close relationships with brokers, lenders and insurers.

Following a hugely successful 2023, where we proudly facilitated over £10 billion in mortgages for over 100,000 homebuyers, we are continuing to onboard some huge names in the mortgage industry and are looking to expand our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Being the technical expert on internal systems and how they work together to optimise the experience for all stakeholders both internal and excellence.
  • Identifying ways to optimise and drive excellence in our business processes through technology.
  • Collaborate with our Product Development organisation to ensure a seamless integration between business processes and our platform for both internal and external users.
  • Full lifecycle development and management of internal tools and integrations between systems.

About you:

  • Software Engineering experience from either degree-level education or previous employment.
  • Willingness and ability to adapt to an ever-changing workload.
  • A natural confidence in data analysis and manipulation.
  • Self-motivated and able to self-learn.
  • Ability to work with and communicate with a range of individuals, with a range of technical abilities and at all levels of seniority.

What we offer:

  • Competitive salary.
  • Chance to make an impact within a fully funded, early-stage Fintech start-up in a unique position to make a difference to the mortgage market.
  • One week of free accommodation for those relocating.
  • Private healthcare, a cash plan, pension contribution.
  • Cycle to work scheme.
  • Vibrant office in Shoreditch with monthly social events.

We’re looking for people that will get stuck in and make a difference. We have a great collaborative, entrepreneurial team that are passionate about what they do. If you want to join a team that is changing people’s lives for the better, then we’d love to hear from you.

We’re eager to receive applications from all backgrounds, including from people of colour, the LGBTQ+ community, people with disabilities, neurodivergent people, parents, carers, and people from lower socio-economic backgrounds. If there’s anything we can do to accommodate your specific situation, please let us know.
